Inherited a smoker like this. Thanks for the overview!
Don't dump food waste down the street sewer. It messes up the rivers and lakes. It's illegal In many places.
Well, it's such a small amount, I'm doubting it's messes up anything. But, I see your point, and I'm being lazy. I'll try better to properly dispose into a container, and into the trash for some land fill to swallow up.
Nicely done...NO MUSIC next time please. :-)
So we just got the exact same smoker and are having a hard time figuring out the dial for the temp. Is just a quarter turn the higher setting or would turning it all the way be at the higher setting? There is no maker for us to determine where the heat is actually set.
Hey there MogerGuitar. You might find this online manual helpful. After reading through it, on page 15 it starts to describe how to use it. Based on the manual, they recommend to always keep the setting on high, unless you're trying to keep things warm, and not cook anything. Hopefully that should make it pretty easy for you. Enjoy mecocorp.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/5030-31-03.5760.05-20180808.pdf
Dave DiFilippo thank you so much. I have the manual. However I’m still unclear on what the high setting is as it’s not labeled or explained in the manual.
@@MogerGuitar Gotcha - that's a shame. Since this almost 8 years old now, I've since move onto another eletric smoker given to me as a gift. I've looked at some replacement parts online though, it it looks relatively simple. Wouldn't over think it too much. But, if there are no markings, then you just need to crank it in one direction till its all the way, and figure out through trial and error if that's the highest heat setting or the lowest. Pratice makes perfect! Soon you'll be dialing in like a pro
i just bought one of these.. how good is the range and the range of the live streaming thing... i live in a place with lots of trees and i dont want to fly to far and have it cut out and get stuck in a tree
Not too far. 500-1000 ft maybe. Find a clearing for sure. Tree are the enemy. Have a long pole in stand-by. I've rescued the drone from a tree landing with one.
ok thanks i will keep this in mind
Love the added music, and of course the spousal response, "Don't put me in this".
Dave thank you so much for the video, the manual was not helpful. I just got a new Meco similar to yours. It came with 2 water pans, similar to the one you have, but one has a hole in the middle? What do you use that one for?
Rob .. Not sure about the water pan with a hole. I’m guessing this might be used if you want to cook with a higher heat, and without water in the smoker. The pan would then be used to catch drippings from the meat, but allow the smoke and heat to directly rise up to meat. That’s the only thing I can think of.
Charcoal pan if you want to use charcoal
The pan with the whole is for wood chips. The hole serves no purpose other than making sure you dont fill two pans with water.
Wat is your temp normal at
225-250 slow and low
The guards are upside down bro
Vince Lev your right. Didn't realize till after I scratched up a propeller. Cry/sob - thanks for the tip though
Thanks for the info. The user manual is sorely lacking basic instructions.
i was about to pick up one of these and wanted to know if lava rocks would fit, thanks for the video! Any reason you went with chips instead of chunks?
You can do chuncks as well. chips just seem easier and more suites for a small smoker like this.
@@davedifilippo536 what happens to the drippings from the salmon.... don't they fall on the chicken?
@@jennasims5631 That's never seem to be a problem for me. Agree that it could be an issue, if your super picky about how your meat is going to taste, probably don't want to risk it. I'm a risk taker!! :-)
Thanks for posting- my brother-n-law just gifted this to me. He thought it would be a good entry level smoker. Looking forward to it!
Do u still have it?
What about play sand in the waterpan?
I just got one of these smokers. thanks for the vid
i love this vid. make sure you drink that water in the bowl at the end. that is yummy. cheers!
